Di Bird is an Australian jazz vocalist, who performs with her band 'Red Hot and Blue'.
Born in rural New South Wales, she moved to Sydney in her late teens. For the next 20 years she pursued a career in pop and rock music.
Beginning her professional singing career in her teens, Di turned to jazz at a relatively late age. Di has played and recorded with some of Australia's jazz greats, such as Graeme Bell, Ed Gaston and Dave Panichi. Di frequently plays throughout Australia, particularly in rural Australia.
Di’s band was voted most popular at the 2003 Noosa Jazz Festival, [1] and continues to tour throughout Australia and New Zealand [1].
